I agree. I find it refreshing that the 'new' testament agrees with the 'old'.
And I also agree with loving to have mysteries unfold.
They have such 'binding' value as we open the Bible to seek out these mysteries.
Science is study based upon observation, identification, and description to arrive at facts. We can observe God's Word, identify truth, and describe it to others ...as fact.
I don't personally claim to know many facts, other than what everyone can know by reading the Bible. Wisdom is not only admitting that others know more than I do ...it's also acknowledging that no person knows more than God.
I may have the same number of teeth in my mouth as my dentist does (unless he plays hockey in his spare time). But, if we do have the same number of teeth, it doesn't mean I know as much about teeth as my dentist does. And I know better not to bite off more than I can chew.
The 'Science Guy' says he loves to delve into mysteries ...searching for answers.

As any time draws 'nigh' ...we can stand to gain more knowledge, or in attempting to gain more, we can obtain less. Knowledge is subject to so many things ...while the truth is only what it is, not dependent upon the acceptance of it.
Again, a note about mysteries ...
I enjoy some mystery novels, and I used to watch the Mystery Movie that first aired in 1971 ...and I particularly liked Columbo. It was hard not to like his style ...unless of course, you were guilty. No, I was going to apply that to today's politics, but I do think I should move on.
The mysteries that are of most value, of course, would seemingly be those that benefit us the most. Some people may think a treasure map with the mystery of what may be buried could be beneficial. But, what's just beneath the surface is the treasures that can not only enhance this life, but also present you with the gift of eternal life.

So, the 'Science Guy' ...who I found somewhat interesting to listen to, though I disagreed with many of his points, particularly the condescending comments ...well, he kind of reminded me of someone I enjoyed listening to in the past. I shared this with my wife, but couldn't come up with the other person.
Then it came to me ....Oliver North.
Over 25 years ago, he was summoned to testify before televised hearings of a joint Congressional committee that was formed to investigate the current scandal. The televised trials were very extensive, unlike what we see today.
I view both Oliver North and the 'Science Guy' as intelligent and good speakers. The difference is, one believes in God and the other doesn't. That gives one access to something the other one does not value ...the wisdom that comes from God.
The 'Science Guy' tried to present discovery as an instinct inbred in us through our evolutionary advancement. I think he mentioned that he had a dog ...as I recall him implying that dogs have the inbred attribute of being discoverers. I laughed to myself, imagining a possible new show entitled, 'Dog Discoverers' ...where they would dig up old bones that they themselves had buried, hopefully in the correct strata layer, so as not to confuse the evolutionists.
To be honest, I don't have a problem looking at animals as discoverers ...as God created all the animals, each with traits, many of which we could learn from their stellar examples of character.
Actually, I was taking care of some sheep for some friends of mine who'd went on vacation. It was during the time where the ram was allowed with the ewes ...for obvious purposes. The ram would charge at me, seemingly seeing me as a threat to the arena that he was attempting to gain dominance in. But, after he saw I was not going to interfere, the ram would calmly look at me with a look that seemed almost like gratefulness. But, then again, I could be wrong ...maybe I was the one who was grateful, for not getting rammed.
Well, to make a short story long ...being with that ram among all those 'ewes', I realized something about some of 'yous'.
I saw order, whether civilized or not. And I saw behaviors between males & females, and though they acted as they were ...animals, their behavior was acceptable among their kind.
I think it is safe to say that people are different ...and behaving like animals is not acceptable. God has given people standards ...and we group some of the behaviors, calling them moral behavior. With evolution, there is no standard of morality ...other than that which is decided upon by a society or culture for a particular period of time. And those times vary according to the stage we claim those people have advanced to. Survival is the measure of the past, and ultimately for the future. So, by evolutionary standards, can we judge cannibalism as wrong? Or any other behavior, for that matter??
It's not right to ram religion down someone's throat ...but it's not fair to have the wool pulled over your eyes either. There are wolves in sheep's clothing ...and I'd much rather be sheared of a comfortable coat, than to be sheer wrong and unable to look forward to a new coat.
What other revelation do we seek? From the Book of Revelation: "After this I looked, and behold, a great multitude that no one could number, from every nation, from all tribes and peoples and languages, standing before the throne and before the Lamb, clothed in white robes ..."
